For our client we currently look for a Field Application Engineer. Your daily tasks will include providing technical support for customers and analysing the data, test setup, configuration and trace evaluation, in order to identify potential issues. You will work closely with internal engineering teams and be in direct contact with customers. A certain willingness to travel is expected due to the field work.
Tasks:
- Identification, analysis and support for issues in test setups, internally and externally at the customer.
- Working with BUS systems protocol analysis – Ethernet, CAN, LIN, etc.
- Analysing data, configuration files / traces to determine the cause.
- Building diagnostic test environments for reproduction of issues.
- Managing tickets using Jira.
Requirements:
- Degree or technical training in the field of electrical engineering, automotive engineering, computer science, industrial engineering, or similar educational paths.
- Problem diagnosis and debugging skills.
- Communication skills to work with various stakeholders. Knowledge in the technologies like Ethernet, networking, BUS systems (hardware, communication protocols).
- Proficiency in English (at least B2).
Nice to have:
- Experience in automotive industry working for Tier-1, Tier-2, or OEM.
- Experience with analysis tools such as Wireshark, CANoe, etc.
- Experience with prototypes/electronics.
- Communicational language skills in German.
- Experience in communication with customers.
- Knowledge in handling measurement technology (with multimeter, oscilloscope or with network diagnostics tools, Vector tools, logger).

Employment contract for an indefinite period with a trial period

Gross salary:
55,000 – 75,000 Euro Gross / Year (depending on skills and experience)
